Gyeon Q² Rim EVO is a state of the art heat-resistant quartz coating for wheels, brake calipers and exhaust systems. If, like us, you always question relative performance in the world of car care, then you’re probably wondering how Gyeon Q² Rim differs to rival products, and what it offers that they don’t? The answers to these questions stem back to its unique alcohol-free formula, which lays down a film of siloxane polymers and heat resistant additives that condense rapidly to form a fully crystallized SiO2 coating that bonds to painted and bare metal surfaces at the molecular level. None of the other SiO2-based coatings we stock work in quite the same way; yes, they lay down glass-like coatings that form strong molecular bonds and, in some cases, fully crystallized lattices, but none are anywhere near as heat-resistant as Gyeon Q² Rim. Indeed, once it’s fully cured, Gyeon Q² Rim EVO can tolerate regular exposure to temperatures of up to 800°C with no drop-off in its protective qualities or durability.
To confirm its ability to tolerate extreme conditions better than rival products, we subjected Gyeon Q² Rim to a number of brutal tests, including: (i) running it on a set of winter wheels that were exposed to road salt on a daily basis and left unwashed for six months; (ii) running it on the stainless steel manifold and exhaust system of a high performance saloon that regularly became hot enough to glow slightly after fast road runs, and; (iii) our usual decontamination process (which was performed on the aforementioned winter wheels at the end of the test period). In all cases, once the treated surfaces were cleaned, it was clear that the coating was still intact, due to strong water beading. Furthermore, no signs of galvanic corrosion were observed on the winter rims, despite their long-term neglect. In line with the manufacturer’s claims, it’s fair to say that Gyeon Q² Rim offers a level of performance that well and truly raises the bar for wheels, brake calipers and exhaust systems.
